Dr. Gwendolyn Patterson Cobbs joined Women to Women in June of 1999. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and had practiced in Reston, Virginia before joining Women to Women. She completed her medical training at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1996. Dr. Cobbs is a native Washingtonian and has performed research in the areas of male contraception, uterine cancer and adolescent pregnancy. She enjoys educating women about their bodies during all stages of life from teen years to menopause. She is trained in high risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, pediatric gynecology, endometriosis, fibriod tumors, infertility and osteoporosis. Dr. Cobbs is also a clinical instructor of medical students and physician assistant students for Georgetown University Medical School and Shenandoah University respectively. Dr. Cobbs is a board member for the organization, Birthmothers, which help women with unplanned pregnancies. She also is the founder and president of the Genesis Food Pantry, an organization that donates food to families in need and she has performed missions work in an orphanage in South Africa. In her free time, she spends time with her husband and three sons.
